The Best Summer Worksheets for Kindergarten

If you’re anything like me, when the weather warms up and the countdown to summer begins, you’re looking for activities that keep your kinders learning… but also calm and engaged. Whether it’s the last week of school, summer school prep, or just something to send home for review, these summer worksheets for kindergarten are exactly what I wish I had my first few years teaching.

Let me walk you through what I’ve included and how I use each one in my own classroom.

Summer Math Worksheets for Kindergarten

I’ve made a set of math worksheets that are super visual, so even your struggling learners can jump in confidently. With helpful picture support on every addition and subtraction worksheet, they’ll count seashells, sunglasses, ice cream cones, and all kinds of summery objects. Then, they’ll solve addition or subtraction problems based on what they see.

What I love about these?

  • The pictures help guide the math.
  • The problems feel like puzzles, not drills.
  • My students stay focused without me needing to hover.

We use them during morning work, centers, or even those funny pockets of time before an assembly or class party. Download a printable version in my TPT store HERE.

I Spy Summer Worksheets for Kindergarten

These are hands-down my class favorite. My I Spy summer worksheets for kindergarten combine counting and visual scanning in the best way. They search for flip-flops, watermelon slices, sun hats, you name it.

Why they work:

  • They feel like a game
  • There’s built-in number writing practice
  • It’s the quietest my room gets in June!

I usually print two versions and let them pick which one they want to try. Instant buy-in.

Both versions are available in my TPT store.

Would You Rather? Summer Drawing + Writing

If you’ve never done a Would You Rather activity with your kinders, you’re in for a treat. These are silly, simple, and sneak in so much language and writing practice.

Each worksheet asks a fun question like:
“Would you rather eat ice cream or a popsicle?”
Then they circle their choice, draw it, and write one little sentence.

Honestly, the conversations that come out of these are hilarious. It’s a gentle way to practice opinion writing, even during end-of-year chaos. A printable version is available in my TPT resource.

Last Day of School & Welcome Summer Coloring Pages

Every year, I love giving my students something sweet and simple to do during that last hour of school. One of my go-tos? A big coloring page with our school in the background and kids running toward summer while the teacher waves goodbye.

I pair it with my “Welcome Summer” page that mixes school items and summer icons. It’s adorable, stress-free, and makes a perfect take-home for the last day.

You will find both last day of school coloring pages plus a fun word search with summer and school words in my store here.

Summer Word Search (Made for Kindergarten!)

We know how tricky most word searches are for little learners… so I made one that’s just right. Simple summer words, clear layout, and big letters.

It’s a calm, independent activity I like to use right after recess or as a fun early finisher task. You can even sneak in some spelling or vocabulary practice without anyone noticing!

Want to make the end of your year feel easier and more fun?
